House Republicans Introduce Resolution Declaring June as ‘Family Month’ Instead of ‘Pride Month’
GOP lawmakers push back on Pride Month by promoting traditional family values and policies that support marriage, parenting, and childbearing
House Republicans introduced a new resolution Friday declaring June as “Family Month,” rejecting the Biden administration’s promotion of Pride Month and reaffirming traditional family values as “indispensable to the survival and flourishing of the United States.”
Led by Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL), the resolution emphasizes the role of the nuclear family in American society, citing high rates of fatherlessness, declining marriage rates, and record-low birth rates as signs of cultural decline. It urges Congress to support policies that promote strong families, encourage childbirth, and reaffirm parental rights in education and healthcare.
The resolution directly rebukes the Biden administration’s Pride Month proclamations, criticizing the promotion of gender ideology and the sexualization of children through taxpayer-funded institutions.
The measure was endorsed by over 40 Republican lawmakers, including Reps. Matt Rosendale (R-MT), Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), and Chip Roy (R-TX).
